A two hour bus journey in a westerly direction along the Jamaican north coast took us through the towns of St Anne's Bay, Runaway Bay, Discovery Bay and Falmouth before reaching Montego Bay. We then changed buses and headed in a south westerly direction to Negril, which is situated on Jamaica's west coast. Negril is meant to be one of the world's best beaches and definately Jamaica's best beach.
Most of today's journey was along coastal roads and we saw cruise ships and many beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea.
We arrived at 4pm. Fortunately the bus terminal is next door so we didn't have to find the place. Checked in at Kuyaba, right on the beach at the southern end. Heather is often 'surprised' at the standard of rooms booked by Jeff. On this occasion the room looks like it was built in the days of slavery, abolished in 1834! Even the towels are pre WW1.
Pathetic wifi service coupled with the room, we decide to upgrade and now have a toilet, a shower, beds, TV and air conditioning. And wifi. Actually, the a/c and the TV are the only extras but the room is much newer. And the wifi works.
